Lockdown may be easing, but at St Andrew Boat Club, we continue to follow the Scottish Rowing guidance on Covid-19, and therefore there will be no rowing at the club until further notice.

The latest guidance, published this week, allows for some rowing with stringent safety measures in place, but with access to boat storage facilities – including our boat house – not permitted, sadly, we will have to wait a bit longer until we can start getting onto the water again.

No access to the boat house should be attempted until the government’s lockdown rules are further relaxed beyond this current phase 1, and this also applies to those with private equipment held in the boat house.

A pathway on how we can begin to row again when things change is being developed, and a small group of volunteers will soon begin to prepare the boat house for that time.

In due course, we will share the process and procedure members will have to follow to sign up for time slots to row in singles or bigger boats containing members of the same household.

In the meantime, stay in touch by sharing your off-the-water workouts, joining one of the Wednesday circuit sessions or posting messages or pictures on social media – and most importantly, take care.
