Licensing and Insurance

In order to compete, all athletes must possess a current valid Competition License issued and administered (for Scottish clubs) by Scottish Rowing.  You should submit completed application or renewal forms to the club's Honorary Secretary for counter-signature and onwards submission.

Cheques in payment for licenses should be made payable to "Scottish Rowing" and not to St Andrew Boat Club.

The Scottish Rowing Competition License includes personal liability insurance. Consequently, even if you do not wish to compete, the club requires all its active members to possess a current valid license.

To obtain a Scottish Rowing Competition License application form, click here for the downloads section of Scottish Rowing's website.

Licenses are valid from 01 January to 31 December of each year. In the case of unlicensed new members, any applications made after the Scottish Rowing Championships in any given year (usually the middle of June) but before the Scottish Rowing AGM (usually in November) may be accepted at the current year's rate and will last until 31 December of the following year. Existing license holders may not renew their licenses until after the Scottish Rowing AGM in any given year.
