"St Andrew Boat Club women's squad is a friendly group that encourages rowing of all levels in a variety of boats and is a great place to meet new people."

Whether you have been rowing for a long time and are looking for a new club, want to get back into it after some time away, or have never set foot in a boat but want to give it a try, we’re always happy to welcome new members.

Our squad is made up of experienced rowers joining us from universities or other boat clubs, but also includes complete beginners who are coached by our more experienced members.

Training is varied as we also go to Dullatur on weekends to take advantage of the Forth and Clyde Canal. In preparation for the summer season we also arrange occasional training camp weekends outside of Edinburgh (e.g. Strathclyde Park, Inverness, Loch Faskally, Loch Ken etc).

While the summer season is dominated by sprint races (1000m-2000m), the autumn and spring seasons generally focus on head races (3000m-6000m). Last year we ventured as far as Belfast (Head of the Lagan) and London (Women's Head of the River).

Why not come along and give rowing with us a try? We’d love to hear from you so just drop us an email or come down to the boathouse for a chat and a look around.
