St Andrew Boat Club was well-represented at the 2022 World Rowing Masters Regatta, which took place in Libourne, near Bordeaux, this September, with nine women and three men participating in pairs, doubles, fours, quads and eights over five days of racing.
In hot racing conditions, the club claimed two golds, in the women’s A4- (Amy Sweeny, Rosie Morton, Charlotte Scott and Natalie Tysoe) and mixed C2x (Martha Walsh, partnering up with Barry Clarke of Neptune RC in their old Vesta RC kit).
Unfortunately, the event awards no prizes for coming second or our travellers would have plenty of silverware for many close second places, including in men’s B2x, women’s B2x, Mixed B2x and women’s B8.
The rowers are grateful to support received from the Scottish masters rowing community to transport boats and share wisdom, in particular trailer drivers Ailie Ord, Alastair Neill and Martin Claxton. We can’t wait for our next international masters rowing event!
Hello
I have no rowing experience but have been interested / keen on the idea of rowing for many years. I’m 41 and am fairly active. How do I get involved / see what you have on offer?
Thanks
Charlotta
